MIDDLEFIELD, CONNECTICUT (December 5, 1997)......Zygo Corporation (NASDAQ:ZIGO) announced today that it has shipped its 500th Growth Potential Interferometer since introducing the product family in 1994. The GPI family further extended the core interferometry technology which ZYGO first introduced in 1973. ZYGO has more than 2,500 large aperture systems installed around the world today.
The Growth Potential Interferometer, or GPI, family of products is designed to allow the user of the equipment to quantitatively measure the surface profile of a sample in three dimensions. GPIs are found in many high technology applications particularly in the production of optical components for precision measurement equipment, data storage products, semiconductors, and other parts requiring high precision metrology measurements.
Zygo Corporation designs, develops, manufactures, and markets high performance measurement and yield improvement instruments, systems, and accessories used in high technology industries.
